On saturday 23/11, X3M Triathlon Mersch organized its 6th edition of the trail run event in and around Mersch woods. Around 300 athletes took the opportunity to run either the 18.0km L-Trail or the shorter version over 12.5km called S-Trail. 40 kids were present to run the Kids Trail over 0.75km or the Youth Trail over 2km. Thanks to all of you for your participation.
In the L-Trail, the well-known belgian athlete Francois Reding (winner of 2015-2017) won for the 4th time in 1h11:24, only 13 seconds over the event record set by Bob Haller last year. Gratulation Francois pour ta performance!!!
Runner-up of this year’s edition was Jérôme Ewen in 1h18:39 followed by french Adrien Jacquelin in 1h22:11.
In the women’s race, hungarian Zsanett Moczo (runner-up of 2018 in 1h27:10) was by far the fastest lady today, winning in 1h25:19. 2nd rank overall goes to X3M-athlete Jackie Mores in 1h31:49 followed by Shefi Xhaferaj on 3rd in 1h33:37.
Overall, there were about 50 runners less on this course comparing to 2018 – 101 male and 33 female runners.
On the shorter S-Trail covering 12.5km, luxembourgish Laurent Reichling set a new event record by finishing in 49:21min. Laurent was followed by german Andre Wilhelms (PST Trier) on 2nd in 50:50min and Marlon Fereira Martins on 3rd in 50:55min.
Line Dupont (CSL) won the female ranking setting an end time of 1h05:57. Tanja Ernster came in second in 1h06:05 and 3rd on the podium was Véronique Welter in 1h07:15.
We had 153 finishers on this course – 97 male and 56 female participants (4 more than 2018).
