RACE REPORT & RESULTS 2015

The second edition of the Freelander’s Trail Mersch-Hollenfels was a tremendous success – new participation record, perfect weather conditions, no major issues on the track and happy people at the finishline. THANK YOU!

The long distance over 18.1km was won by belgium runner FRANCOIS REDING, who won this edition with an end time of 1:14:22, followed by Trispeed Mamer athlete CHRISTIAN KROMBACH in 1:19:09 and POL FLESCH (CA FOLA) on 3rd in 1:20:10. In the female category, the race was won by LIZ NEPPER in 1:27:44, followed by ISABELLE KLEIN (TRILUX) in 1:29:15 and ALICE OLIVEIRO (Ferrero) in 1:34:17.

Overall, there were 194 runners who finished the demanding long distance race with an ascent of more than 500m. Well done to every single athlete.

On the shorter distance over 11.2km (ascent of 290m), Celtic Diekirch runner STEFAN KORNELIS had the strongest legs to win in 44:39min, 2nd rank overall goes to SERGE THILL (CAB) in 49:21 and NICOLAS GEIB in 51:36.

LUCIE DELAPLACE (Triathlon Amiens) won the women’s race on the S-distance in 58:07, followed by CAROLE KIEFER (Lanternes Rouges) on 2nd in 58:38 and TANIA HOFFMANN (CAEG) in 59:59.

106 runners finished the shorter S-distance.

18 nordic-walkers and 15 kids participated in the attractive framework races. By the way, Wayne Roden (born in 2007) won the kids trail over 1km in 4:28min and Mika la Terza (2004) won the demanding Youth Trail over 2km in 9:12min. Congratulations!

Even the last attendant of the race had a smile in his face while crossing the finishline with cramps and completly exhausted… 😉 Thanks of being there!
