Claude Lucas and Luc Weis aligned at the Challenge Salou middle distance triathlon this sunday, unfortunately the swim had to be cancelled due to extremly cold weather with outside temperatures around 5°C in the early morning and water temperatures around 13°C only… The race was held as a duathlon instead with a replacement run 1 over 4.4km, followed by a 84km bike segment (3 loops) and a half marathon.
Claude Lucas raced as a PRO athlete and started his race at 8h00 this morning. He showed a very steady performance as he was always situated between an overall ranking of 35-40. Claude finally took 37th rank overall in 3h41:20 [splits : 14:10 – 2h02:31 – 1h20:18]
Luc Weis started his race at 9h00 with all the age groupers. He performed very good as well, Luc ranked 218th overall and 15th in M18-24 with a final time of 4h27:56 [splis : 17:58 – 2h21:15 – 1h44:11]
