8th Open Water Swim Challenge Lultzhausen

Eight athletes from our team tested their swim abilities at the 8th edition of the Open Water Challenge, organized by Swimming Luxembourg. This year’s edition was held in Lultzhausen for the first time, which was a good decision overall. This swim event is part of the national FLTRI triathlon tritour.

On the 1000m, only participant Fé Maria Albuquerque finished 22nd in 23:08min.

RESULTS – 1000m Open Water Challenge

More athletes were present on the 3000m main race. Best result goes to Javier Higuera who finished on 18th rank (49:03min), followed closely by Pascal Duhautpas on 19th rank (49:17min) and Roy Blom on 20th position (49:19min). Jean-Claude Schmitz took 23rd rank in 53:35min and Gian-Marco Bartolini 43rd in 1h01:38. 57 swimmers finished this distance.

RESULTS – 3000m Open Water Challenge

Finally, the lux. open water swim championships were held over the classic 5km distance. 19 swimmers swom the 5 laps, in the thick of it Francois Genesteix on 17th rank and winner in M55 (1h43:18) and René Grosbusch on 18th overall and 2nd in M55 (1h46:39).
