Athlete Report : Sally Dickes @ IM70.3 Erkner/Berlin

The triathlon season 2022 comes after a few disappointing races, with a successful Ironman 70.3 today in Erkner (Berlin) to an end.
With a 6th place in my age group, in a total of 4:50:27 I managed to qualify for the World Championship next year in Lahti (Finland), which was a season goal and definitely is a dream coming true 😍💪
Swim 1.9 km: 33:52 🏊‍♀️
Bike 90 km: 2:30:54 🚴‍♀️
Run 21.1 km: 1:39:23 🏃‍♀️
After a moment of shock, when 5 seconds before the starting signal (rolling start) my goggles broke😳, I had to run back to the transition area to get the replacement goggles of Fab Kie – thank you! Then I had to push back through over a thousand of athletes so that I was able to cross the start line with my lux friends just in time. At least I was warmed up 😅.
I am totally happy and just want to say thank you to all the athletes that train with me; family and friends who support me (especially my Dad Luc Dickes); coaches, physios, osteos, nutritionists, sponsors and my Employer Ecole Nationale pour Adultes and particularly Jos Bertemes to letting me work for Luxembourg Triathlon as well!
Thank you so much! 😅
Now it is time for a well deserved rest 🥵😅

In the same event, Steve Marx finished 389th overall in 4h52:28 (37:22 – 2h26:30 – 1h39:52)
