Oliver Gorges and Harry Smallbone won Kids A race resp. the main elite race at the sprint triathlon in Grevenmacher today.
In the Kids A race (100m-3km-600m), Harry dominated the race once again and took the victory in 11:01min, leading 2nd boy by 19sec.
Ben Smallbone, his elder brother, took 3rd podium rank in Youth B race over 200m-5.2km-1.7km in 19:04min, leading Luca Seidel by 39sec on 5th rank overall. Leo Weishaar and Noémie Ries have been very unfortunate – both crashed with the bike and ended up in the ambulance!!! Get well soon Noémie and Leo!!!
The main race over the classic sprint distance (0.5-20-5km) was dominated by Oliver Gorges as of the first meters. He quit the open water bassin in Maacher with a lead of 45sec already, rode hard on the bike in solitaire (2nd fastest split) and finished hardly in 16:33min for the 5km. He won the race in 55:53min with a lead of more than 2min. Congratulations Oli for the victory!
