Ironman Malaysia – Christian Weyland & Pascal Duhautpas

The 2 X3M athletes Christian Weyland and Pascal Duhautpas have participated in the Ironman Malaysia in Langkawi on November 11.

Christian has won his age group (M35-39) in 9h49m28s and gained a spot for Hawaii in 2018. After a very fast bike split (8th overall), Christian was best non-professional to go on the marathon. He kept all together to reach 25th rank overall. Well done and congratulations!

Pascal finished in 11h41m02s on 19th position in his age group (M45-49) and 169th overall out of 1002 athletes, but was handicapped by stomach cramps. Good job of finishing the race!

The weather was 34 degrees and 70% humidity on race day, but after mid distance of the race, heavy rainfalls made temperatures drop to 30 degrees (only) and humidity rise to 100% – very tough to run a marathon under these conditions!!! No athlete was able to break the 3h-barrier today!
